Frame size vs Choice of lens
Lenses should be changed depending on the application, such as frame size.

Fig.1-3: Comparing Differences

Different lenses produce differences between wide/standard/tele angle, even if it is the same subject.

Wide Shot- W.S
Shoot wide angle (18mm-30mm)

Fig.1-5: M.S Example

Medium Shot- M.S
Shoot standard angle (40mm-50mm)

Medium Close-up Shot- M.C.U
Shoot standard angle (45mm-55mm)

Headroom
Headroom refers to enough room for the subject's head. Space around their head yet not too much. Too low in the frame (too much headroom) makes them appear short. Not enough headroom makes them look tall and scrunched. Correct headroom gives the subject just enough space around their head to make them look comfortable.

INSTRUCTIONS

PROJECTS
Task 1 (Week 2) - Shooting Practice & Editing
For the first task, we're to shoot a video of different angles in landscape format for 5 seconds/video.

As instructed, I did a shot on campus around the class with Hui Zhen.

I then gather and insert all the videos to Premiere Pro, as well adding text/description of the shot type.

Final submission

Task 2A (Week 2) - Editing Exercise (Lalin)

Tools used:
1. Define the In point (I): select the "start" and Outpoint (O): select the "end"
2. Play video In and Out to check the smoothness of the clips
3. Dip to Black [Project Panel > effects > video transitions > dip to black]
4. Cross Dissolve [Project Panel > effects > video transitions > cross dissolve]
5. Split [command+K]

After trimming and combining all the footage, I added the graphics that have been provided in the Google Drive folder. Then, I also added the message pop-up notification sound to it.

Final Outcome

Task 2B (Week 3) - Editing Exercise (Lalin): Trim to 30 sec.
For the next task, we're instructed to trim the previous Lalin video we've edited to a 30-second video, using the ripple edit tool. Below is the tutorial video given:

Task 3 (Week 3) - Shooting Exercise: Music Video Filming
In week 1 and 2, we're asked to form a group consisting of 3 members and explore a possible MV and song. My group consists of Siew Weng and Jun Zhe. After discussion, we decided to go with a new viral song on TikTok, "Left and Right" by Charlie Puth and Jungkook, as the dance movement was pretty easy for us to follow.

On week 3, we gathered and shot our dancing vid on campus.

Then from several video we shot, I chose some of the potential one to include in my MV.
After shooting the group video, me and Siew Weng decided to met and help each other to shoot the individual video, as we live in the same apartment.

Next, after shooting both group and individual shots, I combined the good ones on Premiere Pro and start trimming and editing.

Then finally, I add text for the song title, which I used a playful groovy font for it and a regular sans serif for the singers.
- "Basically A Sans Serif" (body text/singer typeface)

Final Outcome

Task 4 (Week 6) - Editing Production Shoot Video
In this task, we're to shot a trailer referencing on a Korean drama called "Happiness". The shooting session was done in a group and on campus using the tools provided by Mr. Martin. After choosing a group, we discussed places to shoot each scene and start to distribute tasks and positions. I chose to be as the lighting crew with Brigitta.

After having a long day to shoot, we're finally done and the one left is to combine the audio and video as well as to edit our own trailer.

First Outcome (Without color grading and BGM)

Next I look for sound effects and BGM that suits the vibe and the storyline. Below are the sound and music I used:
