TASKS
TASK 2A - LOGO RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
In the first part of task 2, we're to collect and analyze 28 existing brand logos (good &/ bad). Below is the list of things to identify:
- Type of logo (logotype, logo mark, etc.)
- Is the logo descriptive, abstract, etc.
- Identify and describe the graphic elements or base elements used in the logo construction
- Logo color scheme (warm, cool, secondary, primary)
- Logo typeface.

TASK 2B - LOGO DESIGN
The second part of the task is to create a logo for our chosen brand or occupation. To determine the direction, we're asked to list down 3 unique occupation ideas that we wanted to do if we weren't a designer, along with their rationale.
Mind Map
After Ms. Li Lian's suggestion, I chose to proceed with the dog fine dining restaurant. I then came up with one name, Bone Appétit, which is taken from a France word, Bon Appétit, which means a salutation to a person about to eat.
After deciding on the name, I started to make 2 mind maps, one for the brand name breakdown and the other for the business aspect (interior, etc.)

Moodboard
After the mindmap, I started to look up logo references on Pinterest and Behance, then compile them into two different mood boards theme.
For the first mood board, I was attracted by the Retro-vintage type of logos, which features a vintage sketchy illustration and mainly uses serif typefaces.

As for the second moodboard, I opted for a more modern, minimalist, and elegant theme, just like the brand image.

Based on the moodboard references that I've collected, I sketch out some of the ideas.

Digitization
After all the feedback I received, I proceed to digitize some of the logos sketches that I like, then also chose some of the possible typefaces.

GIF Animation
For the final part of this task, we're to create a minimum of 10-second GIF of our final logo. Below is the GIF animation direction:
- Stroke reveal of the fork & bone logo, as well as the half circle of food cover
- Zoom in the est. & 2023 words
- Stroke reveal of the food cover's lid
- 'Bone Appetit' text reveals from down to up
- Zoom in the 'Dog Fine Dining' text

REFLECTION
FEEDBACK
Week 4
Specific Feedback:
Sketches number 13,14, and 15 are good but can explore more. The brand name itself is already nice so number 11 and 12 will not be so suitable as it doesn't show the brand name.

Week 5
Specific Feedback:
Both of the typeface choices are good.
Both of the typeface choices are good.
Week 7
Specific Feedback (Task 2A):
Well-designed slides. However, do credit your sources. Analysis could contain your own opinion to demonstrate critical thinking ability.

Specific Feedback (Task 2B):
- The 'est.' detail is illegible (suggest increasing point size, setting in uppercase, or both).
- Do consider looking at logo design without a tagline as well to allow more flexibility for usage.
- Both above components are clearly not flexible enough as suggested by the logo in minimum size.
- Unclear understanding of logo clear space reflected.
- More sensitivity is needed to the quality or stroke thickness which was not adhered towards in patterns.
