As my brand reflected an elegant and minimalist image, I wanted the brand guidelines to have the same image as the brand itself, that's why I chose simple, clean, minimalistic, but elegant references such as the below images.
Progression
Margins and Columns Exploration
To start off, I start by exploring different grids and margins. Below are the four margin and column attempt that I tried:
From the four attempts, I decided to choose below sizing for my brand guidelines:
Margins
Top: 62 pt
Bottom: 70 pt
Left: 70 pt
Right: 70 pt
Columns
Number: 12
Gutter: 18 pt
Rows
Number: 6
Gutter: 18 pt

Fig. 3.4: First Layout Draft
From the feedbacks given by Ms. Li Lian and Mr. Vinod, I decided to go with the first navigation attempt, however, with a change of sizing, leading, etc.
While doing the layout, I also did search for some suitable images with similar tone that suits my brand the most, and below are some of the pictures I found online:

With the feedbacks given from classmates in week 12, I changed the leading so that it's not too tight to one another.

Interactive Progression
For the navigation button, I am planning to create a hovering animation to each button, where the brand mark will show and the text will change its color. I managed to do it easily using the help of this tutorial that I found:
However, after doing the tutorial I just found out that this type of animation will not work on interactive PDF, instead it needed to be saved as EPUB (fixed layout) or publish online. So, I decided to submit 2 files, interactive PDF and the online version, which will have some different animation.

REFLECTION
FEEDBACKS
Week 11
Specific Feedback:
All the navigation looks okay but, the first and second one look too 'safe', while the third one seems more interesting. However due to the placement of the navigation texts (on 3rd nav layout), the overall layout looks too restricted and stiff compared to the brand image itself. Whereas, the texts layout on the first one looks nice and interesting as it flows nicely. So overall for the navigation layout, combining first and third layout or adjusting texts on the first one would be the best way. Then lastly, do consider to use an image as the background to have more varieties.
Week 12
General Feedback:
Credit all the images used and taken online. All the references can be placed under the image itself with a small point size. Moreover, a back cover design is also required.
Specific Feedback:
For the visual image, try to add more, especially adding dog-related pictures so it can portray clearly about the brand. Then, for the body text, the sizes can be improved by 1-2 pt size as it is too small and tight.
